Journey is a BLANK full-body silicone doll kit, sculpted and poured by me, Dawn Donofrio, in beautiful, soft blend platinum silicone. This cuddly, chubby, 4 -6 month old-size baby doll is so much fun to dress and pose! She/he takes 6-9 month old size real baby clothing (closer to 9 month size!). Journey comes with an open mouth and a separate tongue. This chunky large sized silicone weighs around 15 lbs. and measures 25-26″ long, depending how you pose the legs. The blanks shown here both have armatures.

You will receive the BLANK doll, with no paint, no hair etc. Photos of a finished baby Journey (to be added later) are for illustration purposes only, representing how this doll can look when finished.

To kickoff this edition, I am offering just 14 blanks to be purchased here on my website, until we can catch up on orders, and to allow me to reevaluate the condition of the mold before moving on. I will be reserving several copies for myself to paint.

I am not limiting this edition – however, the number of dolls I can produce will depend on whether I can create a master copy or not, and the life of the first mold. To be determined.

Additionally, I am leaving the door open for the possibility of a vinyl partial kit in the distant future.

IMPORTANT

Each blank kit is made to order. This is NOT a ready-to-ship item. Minimum wait is 3-4 weeks, and could be up to 12 weeks if we are currently working on MANY orders (like when a new doll drops) All dolls are sculpted by me and poured in silicone in my Bayville, NJ studio. I do not have any distributors for my silicone dolls.

PAYMENT

I will be accepting paid in full orders only to start for the first several spots. If available spots remain, the payment plan option will be added to this listing.  Please note that if you get a payment plan, your doll will be put onto the pouring schedule AFTER all payments have been completed, so your wait time to receive your blank begins at the time your doll is completely paid off. They are not ready to ship on the day it’s paid off. Alternately, if you choose to pay it off early, it doesn’t necessarily mean you will receive it faster – I have planned the pouring schedule according to your original commitment. If you need it faster, please contact me and I will see if I can squeeze it in earlier. Thank you!

****If you are adding armatures to your doll, please note that they are wire and must be handled gently. I go over this topic in the silicone care and tips section of this website. Armatures are NOT warranteed. They WILL break if overused. We currently do not offer repair work at my studio. The longevity of your armature depends on your usage.

    The photos shown here are the blank, unpainted kit. You will receive the BLANK UNPAINTED  KIT, without paint or hair.

    Opal (sleeping) is available as a girl or a boy (Ollie). *Boy parts need to be added on for the boy version and are an additional charge.

    Opal (sleeping) will NOT be declared a limited edition at this time, but will be recast as needed, at my discretion, and could vary slightly with each mold. Opal (sleeping) has a slightly different arm pose than Opal Awake, and can have arm armatures installed for an added fee, but they will not be a standard feature.

    Elowyn, Artist Proof 1, Human version

    Elowyn, a 5-piece doll sculpt with CLOTH body, was lovingly sculpted from clay by me, Dawn Donofrio, in 2022. I worked on this baby for months, putting the project down several times, to make sure every detail was just right. She was sculpted as a human baby, but I decided to add a little fun and variety by adding an option with fairy ears. I sent this sculpt out to be perfectly molded and poured by Maria Lynn Dolls, in soft, ecoflex 20 platinum silicone, that mimics the feel of real baby skin! When I got her back in silicone, the work to bring her to life began.

    The baby doll in this auction is the first pour from the mold, featuring an ethnic skintone and 1/4 silicone limbs. She is an open-edition doll, that I will close at my own discretion.

    Only top-quality materials were used in finishing this special fairy baby doll. I have chosen to give her a warm ethnic/biracial skin tone. Her lifelike silicone “skin” glows with realism from layer upon layer of rich tones, meticulously applied over several days time. No detail was spared from her head to her tiny toes!

    Elowyn, Artist Proof 1, has a painted and finished silicone head with 1/4 limbs (hands and feet only)on a cloth doll body. Like any piece of art, she has minor imperfections/lint in the silicone paint, which is normal and adds to the uniqueness of her hand-finishing. This one has some minor flecks near the nose area. They do not detract from her beauty, as they are only visible very close-up, but I want you to know they are there.

    This Elowyn has beautiful brown Lauscha glass eyes, imported directly from Germany, that shine with realism.

    She has an open mouth, and you can see her cute, inset tongue inside when you gently squeeze her cheeks. She can take a small pacifier.

    This Elowyn was expertly rooted with soft semi-wavy, dark brown hair, by Doris Brundige. It is easy to style, gently. A silicone doll’s hair cannot be sealed into the head like a vinyl reborn, so you must be extra careful when brushing or styling. Elowyn’s lashes are applied and her eyebrows are hand-painted.

    Though Elowyn is a doll, she is a high-end collectible piece of art and is not a child’s toy. She is not intended for “play,” as extended and rough handling or rubbing will decrease her integrity as a piece of art. You may handle her gently and change her clothes carefully. Her hair can be misted with water and brushed very gently with a toothbrush, as well.

    Elowyn is a larger baby, at 23 inches in length, laying flat, and weighing just under 8lbs. She has a head circumference of 16 inches. She looks and feels just like a real baby. I chose to weight her on the lighter side, so she would be more comfortable to hold. You can bend her arms and legs into many poses because the body is cloth up to the wrists and ankle areas. She is not overstuffed, keeping her cuddly and flexible

    Elowyn will come home with 2 outfits, including her long-sleeve cream bubble and flower headband, and her extra sweet coral-colored bunny bubble outfit, bow headband, diaper, long-sleeve onesie, and tights. She will also come with her coordinating pacifier with a pretty wooden clip, and a soft yellow blanket. Other photo props, including baby wraps and flowers, bunnies etc, are not included. She will come with a certificate of authenticity from me.

    This very special doll is the FIRST doll pulled from the mold , and my personal prototype sample, sculpted and finished by me. Tons of photos of her have been shared on my Facebook and Instagram accounts ahead of this auction.
